Six crises, one shared cause

Each threat amplifies the others. Here's what's happening — and where we focus our work.

Climate Change

Greenhouse gases trap heat, supercharging storms, droughts, floods, and heatwaves. Limiting warming to 1.5°C means halving emissions by 2030 — the defining challenge of our time.

2023 was the hottest year on record.

Air Pollution

From vehicle exhaust to industrial smog and indoor cooking fires, dirty air shortens lives and damages young lungs. Clean energy is both a health and a climate win.

Dirty air causes ~7 million early deaths a year.

Deforestation

Forests are the planet's lungs — absorbing carbon, releasing oxygen, and sheltering most of life on land. Yet we clear millions of hectares every year for timber, grazing, and crops.

We lose ~10 million hectares of forest annually.

Ocean Health

Rising CO₂ makes oceans warmer and more acidic, bleaching coral reefs and disrupting marine food webs. Plastic pollution adds another layer of stress on the blue half of our planet.

Oceans absorb about 25% of our CO₂ emissions.

Biodiversity Loss

Habitat destruction, pollution, and a warming climate are driving the sixth mass extinction. Every lost species weakens the ecosystems that clean our air and grow our food.

Over 1 million species face extinction within decades.

Climate Justice

The communities least responsible for emissions — often low-income nations and frontline neighbourhoods — suffer the worst floods, heat, and pollution. Real solutions put them first.

The poorest half of humanity emits just 10% of CO₂.
Our Response

From awareness to impact

Understanding the problem is step one. Step two is doing something about it — and we're already on the ground.

  • Deploying open air-quality sensors in polluted cities
  • Restoring native forests and wetlands at scale
  • Funding community solar and wind cooperatives
  • Advocating for science-based climate policy
